Growing up Gilbert

Tuesdays are typically a busy day for us. Every morning some of my dedicated friends take a walk around our neighborhood. It's a pretty long walk! If I'm feeling especially energetic I'll come out and walk with them. This morning we met our friends Patty, Mindy and Kristen for a walk. I refrained from taking pictures of the lovely ladies because we were all very hot, but here are some cute pictures of Ari and her friend Andi walking with us. After taking a walk, we rode with our friend Patty to drop off some goods at the Valentine's bake sale. Patty made muffins, and they looked delicious! But Patty's eye was too sharp for us to sneak any before they made it to the sale. Then we headed to playgroup. The kids have a playgroup every Tuesday morning at 10. The kids enjoy it, but I think the moms enjoy it even more. We don't have a car here, so we rely on the generosity of others to get from place to place. Thankfully Patty needed to go t...

I'm so super excited to write this blog. Arya wrote her name for the first time today! Woo! I wish I would have gotten a better (not backwards) photo, but hey, I was excited!! :)Yay Arya! 

I'll preface this by saying that unless you are one of Arya's grandparents or you're very interested in random shots of Grenadian neighborhoods,  you probably won't find this very interesting. It's just a documentation of one of our favorite parts of the day. Arya and I go on walks almost daily. We've slowed down a bit recently because she's had a serious cough, but we took one today for the first time in about a week. I figured I'd take a ton of pictures so you guys could get a glimpse of what we see every day. We start off at home (duh)- On the walk Arya loves to collect rocks. She has a few dozen at home.  She loves to run ahead of me at the start of the walk. Her second favorite part of the walk is walking on the "pitter patters". These dogs bark at us daily. No matter how many times they see us walk by, they never get used to us.                             ...
