Moving on

I've neglected my blog a bit! We moved back to our hometown near our friends and family, so there hasn't been much of a need to keep everyone updated. But, that's soon to change! We have a really exciting announcement (for those who haven't heard). Ryan was accepted into medical school! I'm beyond proud and we're both incredibly excited. Ryan has been working towards this for awhile, we're happy that things have worked out the way we've been planning. One of the really neat aspects of this is that we're moving to the Caribbean! The island is named Grenada, and it's gorgeous.




We're excited to be moving on and forward with this part of our lives. We just wish we could take everyone with us!! By the way, who wants to come pack up my entire house and find a place to store all of our things? And maybe clean everything for us? ;)

Yesterday was my 24th birthday. It was great! We went to Celebration, Florida to stay with some friends. We definitely had a blast. There is a magnificent hotel in Orlando near Celebration called the Gaylord Pa

They have a really neat exhibit that they call ICE. Every thing around you (including the bricks!) is made of ice. It's very difficult to accurately describe, so I'll let the pictures do the talking:

They handed out parkas at the beginning. They were wonderful- it was so cold!

Celebration, FL has to be the most beautiful town I've ever visited. It's a cozy little town that's all inclusive. It's got a hospital, a school, a church, homes, shoppes, and a university all nestled into one quaint little area. We'll absolutely live there one day! They have neat little activities around this time of year, and one was faux snow. At certain times every night "snow" fell from the street lamps. Arya had a blast!








All in all, it was a fantastic birthday! Thanks for all of the birthday wishes! :)

    That is so awesome! Congrats! Have fun in the Caribbean. I'm jealous. Visit Puerto Rico. That's where I was born.

Ryan was pretty busy on Thursday, which was actually Valentine's day, so we celebrated Friday afternoon instead. Last Valentine's day we went to a place called the Red Crab and LOVED it! We decided to go again this year, and we weren't disappointed.  We walked down to the Red Crab, which is not far from our house. The restaurant was supposed to open at 6, but this is Grenada, so we got there at six to find they weren't quite ready for us. Ten things NOT to say to a pregnant woman.

So, i figured with my time being pregnant coming to a quick close, I would give some advice to those of you who haven't been pregnant. Before my recent foray into pregnancy, I made most of these mistakes. Thankfully, I know better now, and will never again exclaim loudly to one of my pregnant friends-"You look HUGE!" 1. "Hey, you look great!... You know, being pregnant and all" (Or post-pregnancy "You look great!... You know, having had 3 kids and all") The best thing to do in this situation is to stop with "Hey, you look great!" or, don't comment at all. Pregnant women know they've gained 30 lbs in 9 months, that they have cankles, that-thanks to raging hormones- they have acne, and that they do, in fact, NOT look great. 2. Mothers

I have to say, out of all the incredible things I love about our Church, there is one thing I've always been really impressed with. The Prophets, Apostles, and members of the church are always so quick to recognize the importance of women. I can't tell you how many times I've been uplifted because of the things our leaders have said about our potential and significance as women. As I've become a mother, I've found that to be just as true. I've had a bit of a difficult time since having Arya. Being a stay at home mom is hard. Yes, it's sometimes hard to do the things a mom has to do, but that's not what I mean when I say being a stay at home mom is hard. What's really difficult is looking at the rest of the world, the accomplishments of everyone out there, and thinking "What am I really doing?".
